"It starts with the consciousness of a threat."

Most people outside the United States look at our attitudes towards guns and conclude that we are insane. This is completely understandable. But this article in The Atlantic by David French does a good job of explaining the rationale behind gun ownership. It probably won't change any minds, but at least it makes gun ownership seem coherent, which is the first step towards political change.

Carl, that's a pretty fair article, but in the interest of fairness and balance, *PLEASE* run an article which shows how ALL these mass-casualty school shooters were on potent neuro-toxic psych DRUGS, usually the speed-like Ritalin & Adderall for the bogus "ADHD", or the SSRI antidepressants which carry FDA-mandated "black box" warnings for suicide & homicidality....
