Faced with yet another sex scandal in the athletics department, the U's Board of Regents is responding in the only logical fashion. They are setting up a plumber's unit to plug leaks to the press, and Chair Dean Johnson is demanding loyalty pledges from his fellow Regents.
The Pioneer Press writes:
Johnson signed an affidavit asserting that he was not the source. He encouraged other regents to do the same and has asked KSTP to name its source.
“We have to trust one another as regents. We have to clean up our act,” Johnson said, noting that the leak could constitute a misdemeanor violation of the state’s Data Practices Act.
The U’s general counsel and outside experts will conduct a forensic investigation into who leaked the memo, Johnson said. Besides regents, he said five or six other individuals had access to it.
