A "dark poet of the grotesque and absurd"

It's great to see my cousin Liz (aka Julia) getting some love from The New York Times for her novel, The New and Improved Romie Futch.  And right on the heels of her Skype visit to my Foundations of Bioethics class too, in which we discussed guinea-pigging, genetically modified hogs, Zardoz, and an unfortunate elevator encounter with James Dickey.

  1. The elevator encounter was pure enchantment, i.e., fortunate.
