Labor Day thanks to the guinea pig pros

On Labor Day, let's take a moment to remember all the folks who test the safety of new drugs in exchange for a meager paycheck: the homeless people, the ex-cons, the unemployed, the undocumented immigrants, and all the struggling activists, musicians and writers with no other way to make ends meet. These people take untested drugs without health insurance, without compensation for their injuries, and without a working system of human research protection. We couldn't do without them.

  1. And sign here to make sure their sacrifices are not completely in vain:

    https://www.change.org/petitions/richard-gonzalez-of-abbvie-and-daniel-welch-of-intermune-drop-your-legal-action-blocking-access-to-ema-clinical-trial-data

Two U.S. drug cos, AbbVie and InterMune, have sued in the EU claiming that clinical trial results including deadly side effects are "trade secrets"! Just like Colonel Sanders' 11 herbs & spices, you know, except these ones are life & death.

It's an international petition, we've got 300 each UK and US, 7 Pakistan, 15 Bulgaria ... only one from Minnesota? Surely you guys are not THAT polite!

Happy Labor Day! "pray for the dead and FIGHT like hell for the living" Mother Jones
